This past week!

Just some random pictures from this past week. Auntie K was here for the first, almost full week of our little man's days with us! Big Brother and Sister are loving their little brother almost to the smothering point! :) Little Lady claimed him as her baby from the first moment she saw him. Big Guy asks many times a day to hold His baby. Little lady hears one grunt from him and she starts saying Oh boy Oh boy baby Oh boy! So excited to go and see what he needs. Big Guy asked if he could play with his tractors this morning!

We were trying to take some pictures of the three kiddos after bible study and as you can see someone was a little tired. Little sister was going to make it all better....well she tried anyways.

The last few days our Little man has been taking some time each morning and in the evening to check out his surroundings. This little scowl of his is quite common to see! The first time we saw it was the night he was born when sister was poking at him telling us all that this was a baby! He slept through all the poking...just occasionally would scowl in his sleep! :)

Welcome Baby!

Our newest member of the family was born Monday at 5:25pm. Weighing 7lbs 5oz. 20 inches long!

Big Brother and Sister meeting Baby (as Little Lady calls him) They were quite excited and Little Lady claimed him as HER baby not wanting anyone else to hold him! He was sleeping when they arrived so she whispered the whole time! Just this for now! :)

A Garden update

A picture of the kaleidoscope peppers. They are doing well. Started the earlier than they say but am hoping they will have a better chance of producing if I start them earlier. I had one plant survive in the outdoors last year (due to grasshoppers) but it never produced. Also started some basil! Looks like I need to use a couple of the leaves already!

And the artichokes! They are doing well to...not a lot of visible growth above the soil yet but the roots must take a while to develop. Being fairly new to all this one thing I have noticed is: all the first leaves have died off. That is true for all the plants so far except for the herbs and peppers. You can see this is true for the artichokes!

At Last!!!

Finally another baby bump picture!! Here we are at 36weeks. Well today we are 36 weeks and 5 days! So soon to be 37 weeks! We had a spur of the moment ultrasound today and they estimate baby to be about 5lbs 9 oz!

It seems we have been either busy or sick lately! Such is the story with most little families this time of the year. And the weather has been anywhere from miserable to absolutely beautiful! We had several really windy days...like anything that was not tied down is now in Kansas...or Missouri...or who knows where! Surely never to be seen again! So on those days the kiddos either play tractors, Lego's or... Little Lady convinces big Brother to play dolls! Here he is...caught in the act!

Although they pester each other relentlessly during the day they sure do love to snuggle with each other on the 'off' moments :)

Big Brother is getting to be a HUGE help in the kitchen. (yes I am being serious!! OK maybe not always a big help but once in awhile he sure does surprise me!) Here he is breading chicken for our supper one night when I was running behind and needed a little help! AND he LOVES...OK maybe just LIKES to do dishes! We use cast iron pans on our gas stove so they have to be washed by hand...a job that I have perfected the art of procrastination with :) But if it means that Big Guy gets to stay up a little longer at night he runs to the kitchen, gets out his stool, the dish rag, fills it with soap and begins to scrub. After scrubbing till little soap bubbles are covering the WHOLE pan he rinses it and begins the process over again! (on the same pan!) He will wash the same pan until you take it from him and put it on the stove top to dry...and hand him the next one...so needless to say the pans are spic-and-span! So grateful for a little helper!

March Happenings!

This month was our Big Guy's Birthday. We celebrated with a Thomas the Train party. Cake, plates, cups and balloons and Lots of people to help celebrate!

Projects

Our little lady needed a pillow. So we took some fabric leftover from the blanket Grandma sent and made a case to go over a simple pillow.

She also needed an apron. Brother already has one...so we took an old jumper and added fabric to it that we had stashed away.

Also just thought I would add this picture of the first two guinea eggs that we ate. The yolks are about 1/2 the size of a chicken egg and the shells are VERY hard to crack. Just an example of that: Went to put one away in the fridge the other day and my coffee press fell off the top of the fridge and landed....yep... right on the egg which was in my hand!!! It cracked the shell but did not break it to the point of leaking out all over!
