Busy Days are Good Days!

 Even though today was long and filled with work we still found time to enjoy each other's company around the fire.


One project that got done last year is my canning kitchen. We have a building right next to our house that had all the plumbing for a kitchen and a bathroom. So we put one in! Here is a picture of the kitchen
 It still needs a few things to make it more cheery! But it is so much fun! The walls behind the photographer are yellow so the room is quite cheerful already! More pictures will come later when I find the finishing touches we are looking for!

As I have time I plan to post pictures of some of the changes we have made since we moved in here. There haven't been drastic changes (with the exception of the canning kitchen) but some may like to see what has been done. One thing about this place that brings great joy is all the room we have to accommodate people! We have had wonderful fellowship! And the yard is such an oasis in the sometimes brown valley we live in!

Happenings

 What's new around here...seems like everything is the same yet everything changes! We have 2 new batches of kittens. The one batch is 7 weeks and the second batch is a week and a half.

 We took Harper to kindergarten round up. And he is ready! He got to go to p.e. with heidi's class. And tour the school bus. All exciting for him!

 A very tired girl! We have had lots of busy days! Working in the yard and helping daddy whenever we can! She is on this cowboy kick. Everything is about cowboys. Cowboys wear jeans like this. This is a cowboy cat. Heidi is a "new" cowboy. Daddy and mommy are "old" cowboys!

And here we watched daddy fix the old barn roof.

Three!!!

Someone turned Three!  She was sure excited! We finally got the chance to celebrate Sunday night. And we are going to celebrate again wed with the local family. So! More pictures to come! This is all my phone will let do for now though.

Return!

We are going to try to make a return to blogging! Maybe if we can figure out how to blog from the tablet we might get more done!

Harvest is over and while it still seems busy we are enjoying having the kids home for winter break. Now we need to go back and play catch up on the blog! Will let this be all for now till we figure out where we left off!

Kittens...again!

Someone has fallen in love! Poor kitty maybe it will survive....if it isn't loved to death. One of our cats had three kittens awhile back. Every chance she gets she tucks the kittens in with her blanket, or is carting them around snuggling them. Today they even tried to give them baths! We also had to explain that the momma cat right now is the only one who can feed them.

More from Summer

 This sand box has been a wonderful place for the kids to play. They have lots of fun making tunnels, roads and mud pies. We also have acquired three kittens that will soon be cats...and someone absolutely loves animals!

 And somehow!...the animals put up with her!

 My fearless snake hunters. Don't worry. It was just a large bull snake or they would not have been out there after it! They got as brave as hitting it on the tail with the shovel of course.

 Can you find the snake in this picture? I did as I was walking by the tree on the way to move the sprinkler one evening. We have spotted a total of twelve and only half of those have gotten away.

Excuses...

 It is time for me to show our readers...who have probably long given up...why we have been so negligent about posting! As we posted way back in...well... I don't remember...maybe December!? Time has gone by so fast. But back to the point we have relocated to this beautiful place! We absolutely love it! Because spring came and went and summer is in full swing we spend most of our time trying to keep up what was established before we came along. There is with this grand house a large beautiful yard. When I took most of these pictures it was getting dark and we did not capture all of the beautiful flowers.

 And of course the garden is what takes most of the time and again I just snapped a few pictures to show what has kept us so busy that we didn't get the whole garden pictured well. But also I am a bit afraid of snakes and don't really like walking around the yard when the lighting is not very good. We do have reason to be cautious too! So far this year we have seen 12 snakes in the yard. Thank goodness they have been bull snakes and one very large garter snake and a baby garter snake. No rattlers yet. Hopefully it stays that way.

 Chickens....Our oldest does most of the chicken chores but they still take a bit of time each day. Usually because they get let out and it is a challenge getting them back in!

 And now harvest! It is in full swing. We did sneak out a dusk yesterday to try and get a few pictures there too. So much fun to be at the field again. Just this for now and hopefully I can try to do a better job of keeping some news coming!
