June-July

Once again we are far behind with the posting. June for us, like many others, was a very busy month. We started out getting ready for conventions...then got sick. It kept us home and busy with the kiddos for two weeks. And we missed all but the weekend of our convention. We also finally got a bit of rain so Daddy planted sunflowers and millet. So...after 'our' convention the kids and mommy went up to Montana for convention. Auntie K was there along with Papa and Momma Bear and Uncle R. Was a very good trip and thankful for the company (some of Daddy's relatives) on the way home. We got home, unpacked, washed clothes and began work on the garden...then made a quick trip to York to be with friends there who lost their son.

Then home again to get caught up on the garden. 

There has been LOTS of wind this year it seems...and most of it from the south, not common around here, but it has done some damage. We woke up one morning to this large branch in our yard.

 Here are my little helpers moving the heaviest part of the branch. Big Guy has loved this trike-wagon set up and hauls stuff all around the yard for me! Little Lady pushes from behind whenever the going gets tough :)

 There have been many water/mud days due to weather that seems to want to stay in the 90's and occasionally makes a visit to the 100's.

 Daddy has had to fight a couple of fires this year. Both started by lightning and no rain. This one pictured was around 7 miles from our house. It burned a pasture that had soap weed in it and the flames were enormous! This picture (not a good one) was taken right out front of our house...the night before we left for York.

 This is what has occupied Most of our time since coming home. The garden no longer looks like this as the garlic was ready to be harvested, the beets and carrots were ready too. Green Beans have been picked once and need it again this week. Peas have been picked 3 times and are about finished for the summer. Spring started early this year and so did the garden. Most of it should be done by our harvest time!

 AND Little Lady's birthday...she is now 3 years old. A tractor cake at Grandpa and Grandma's after Sunday meeting.

One Year Old

It is hard to believe but yes it is true!

                                                    Little Britches is now One Year Old!! These are some pictures from celebrating that big event. We sure are enjoying this stage of his life. He has quite the sense of humor and does not seem like a baby anymore. He has started saying some words...like 'done', 'Dada', Mama and other things like that. He still eats EVERYTHING. Is almost as tall as Little Lady and gives Big Brother a run for his money.

April

April was a busy month for us. We made a trip up to Papa and Mama Bears house to celebrate the April Birthdays. Auntie K had a birthday so we made this flip flop cake for her. And celebrated all weekend long! Auntie R also had a birthday along with Papa Bear himself! We sure enjoyed our time up there.

 

After getting home Auntie K came to visit and stayed a whole week. We filled the week up that is for sure! We went to a circus, the zoo and shopping along with doing crafts and playing outside.

Our Little Britches is quite the little boy now! He no longer acts like a baby...but is more like one of the other kids now. He gets himself into all sorts of pickles because he likes to climb. Also he has decided he is to big to sit in the high chair and thinks he needs to sit on the stool like Little Lady used to. AND he thinks he can feed himself! When he is done eating he just turns his plate upside down!

The beginning of May brings more birthdays! We made these cupcakes for our neighbor's birthday. They were a lot of fun to make and not as much work as it looks. There will be more pictures after this weekend when we celebrate the first birthday of our Little Britches! Cannot believe it is already that time! :(

The past two months!

Here we are...posting after another long absence! Well the last two months have not exactly been lazy days! We were all sick for about three weeks...then came the catching up on house work etc. Then Papa Bear and Grandma Bear came for a week! It was so much fun to have them with us for that long! And our Little Britches has grown a lot. He is now walking, not all the time, but he can travel around the house fairly well. He has also started saying a few words. Momma is his most common one along with Boo and ruff ruff when we ask him what our puppy dog says. He is a jolly little fellow and laughs easily! Still does not sleep through the night all the time but we are working on that. Last night was the first full night sleep in several weeks...morning just came to early! :)
Did I mention he is quite the climber? I have found him on top of many things recently, And he can make it all the way up the stairs at Grandma L's house all by himself! Here he is snuggling with Papa Bear! (the name...Papa Bear...where did it come from? Well little lady gets Grandpa and Grandma mixed up all the time. Usually she ends up calling anyone with the name grandpa, grandma so when my folks were here this last time she started calling Grandpa, Papa Bear!)

Just a few days ago Big Guy had his 4th birthday! Cannot believe it!!!!! We shared a party with Cousin Cowgirl and they had fun playing, eating cake and talking to G'ma L on skype because she was sick and could not come :(Here they are blowing out the candles! Love the look on the young Cowgirls face!

8 Months

Little Britches is 8 Months! It is so hard to believe and yet he is not just older by 'days' but is acting and looking more like a toddler every day. He learns or discovers something new daily. He has been crawling since 6 months and standing up next to things for a month now. Britches gets Braver every day...yesterday we were moving some furniture around and we had the sections of the couch a foot apart and he almost took a step away from the one to the other! He has stood up in the middle of the floor and is able to stand without holding on to anything for several seconds. So, yes, our second little boy is growing up...soon to be like our first little boy who is more of a little person today than he was a couple years ago.

Little Britches loves...toilet paper, all food, his big brother, being outside, snuggles, big sister, suckers (of the candy sort) and discovering new things. He has quite the sense of humor already! Big Brother can always make him laugh, sister gets a little overbearing and usually always steels his sucker (pacifier).

Little Britches is 22.5 lbs now.

Sunset on the Frontier

Between 7 and 8

Catching up on the Frontier...the things that went on between month 7 and 8 of Little Britches.
We had a rather chilly night a while back and this is where our guineas decided to roost for the night!

This is what Big Guy calls his 'sprayer tent' how it got that name we don't know but they sure enjoyed playing in it and even took one nap and spent one night in it!

Brother snuggles are the best!

This was the most exciting night in the last month! Yes he is inside the toilet! Well...just the lid. We had to get a new toilet seat and he was checking it out BEFORE we put it on the toilet. This was so exciting to the kiddos that we had to call Grandma and tell her! Is our house boring or what!!?!!

7 Months

Now that Little Britches is 8 months let me get our readers a 7 month update! It is awful how behind Mommy gets around here sometimes! But when you have three little ones it is very seldom they all sleep at the same time! Right now the house is quiet so am taking advantage of that time to give you this update!
I just love how these pictures turned out. They are not perfect nor are they professional but they sure do capture his expression and some of his personality too!

Look What I Have!

This is a very common expression! Can you see the mischief in his eyes?! This was right before he made a grab for the camera. :)

And a portrait of all three. :) Just kidding this is the fellow who came to visit the other day. Just before we got a couple days of wind and warmer weather. That is when he decided to go further north...or rather got blown eastward! He was a funny fellow...LOVED standing on his head! That is all we could get him to do for this picture. Little Britches was sleeping for once and missed out on this lovely visitor.
