3 Months!!!!!

It is hard to believe that Lil' Britches is already 3 months old and yet it seems as though he has always been with us! We cannot remember what it was like to just have 2 kids! And cannot remember a time when we might have slept through one full night! :) But our little man is getting to be a lot of fun. He is interacting with us more each day, discovering how to use his hands and getting interested in what the other kids are doing. Big Guy is especially interesting to him and he loves to talk with his older brother. Here he is playing on the floor with help from his sister.

This is the way he likes to sleep. All snuggled in and so cozy!

Here is a little comparison to show how much he has grown. This picture was taken before leaving the hospital to come home...

This is three months later!

This last picture is not good quality but gives you a little look at his sweet smile.

Storm follow up.

This really is not the best picture due to lighting and the fact that it was taken from the road but it gives you an idea of the kind of damage the storm did. This, just beyond the fence post was a field of sunflowers. It had not been harvested. The below picture is of our field that was not hit so you can have some idea of what they should look like right now. Notice there is not anything left...not even on the ground!

Intermission

We have to take an intermission from the intended schedule of pictures to bring you a severe weather report. This storm was spotted last night around 7:30pm. moving at 50 to 55 miles per hour with golf ball size hail, heavy rain and a tornado warning. This was the worst storm we have had in our area all year. ( we have had six storms with hail so far this year.) The below photo is a panorama of the storm made up of three pictures. The first picture was taken facing Southwest, the last picture taken facing North to northwest approximately a 100 degree turn. And as you can see from the picture it did not get in the full spectrum of the storm! One more picture would not have even covered it all. Our farm ground did get some hail damage but those across the state line got the brunt of the storm.


Disclaimer: this panorama is not done by a professional and was done in haste as the storm was fast approaching! We made it home just as the first rain drops were falling down....only to find that one of the kiddos had been messing with the door nob and it was locked!! (this has happened before, you think we would learn:) ) Thankfully the side door was not locked! :) Here are pictures of the back side of the storm.

Not very good pictures but kind of fun. It was completely dark out by now accept for the moon and the flashes of lightning.

Finished Product

Don't think staff ever got around to getting pictures up of Big Guy's room in its finished state. Will have to get on them for being so slow! :) Just a simple collage of the fun features of the bedroom. Grandma donated her John Deere bed sets that were in Uncle B's room. And the dresser is one mommy remembers from when she was little. Don't know how many coats of paint it has on it and this may not be the last one it ever has but fun none the less.

Signed: The Frontier Wife

We have had a special guest with us this past week and a half! She is from Ecuador! Man of the House and Little wifey were in her folks' home when they went to ecuador about four and a half years ago! The kids enjoyed having someone to play, paint and make things out of clay with.

Here is our friend from Ecuador making a tractor that looks like Johnny tractor. She is quite the artist! And quite the cook also! It think we all gained weight when she was here...and some good recipes also!

A tired little Lady!

Have meant to post this picture for some time now as it was the second cake for Little Lady. We had this cake after bible study awhile back to celebrate. Not a very good picture but the best one I have.

Carpet...NOT for the kitchen!!!

The desire to rip out the carpet in our kitchen began the day we moved into this little house on the Frontier. As the years have passed the desire has grown as each spill left marks on the light colored carpet. Every oil spot showed, every egg dropped left a splatter. And so when the dishwasher started leaking...and kept leaking...then began pouring water out at every wash cycle the carpet became damp...then wet...and wetter until it was so wet it did not dry out between runnings of the dishwasher! So one morning after company left we pulled back the carpet in order to fan the carpet dry...what we found there was a family of earwigs!!! (if there are any that do not know what earwigs are let staff know and we can post a picture) Earwigs just so happen to be one of those bugs that give the housekeeper goosebumps and shivers. So out came the cellphone. And such was the conversation: Little Wifey: dearest honey i pulled back the carpet in order to dry it out and you will not believe what I have found! Earwigs all over! do I have permission to rip it out? Hubby: Sure. (you see hubby was very busy and did not want to be bothered.) Little Wifey: Are you serious? Cause I will! (no reply from hubby) This is what the kitchen looked like within ten minutes of the texting conversation:

Besides earwigs this is what we found under that ole' carpet! The most traveled path in the entire house is very evident!

This is what the floor looked like by noon!!!

Maybe not exactly what Little Wifey would have chosen for a kitchen floor but 100 times better than carpet!!! (notice: when this project was started we knew there was linoleum under the carpet but had no idea what shape it was in!)

2 Months!

Our Lil' Britches is Two Months Old! It is hard to believe that time has gone so fast! He is an active little guy and seems to be awake more at this age than the older two. He is a smily little guy and has started discovering his hands...and his tongue! He is always sticking his tongue in and out. Then he grins as if he is telling you some joke. Unless he is crying or sleeping he has a twinkling little light in his eyes.

A good natured little fellow. Must be because he is well loved! :)
